When this happens, it's usually because the owner only shared it with a small group of people, changed who can see it or it's been deleted."50 Years ago Band on the Run what a great Album"--Say what you want about Macca--This is a Classic Album.He is a great Bass player ,and he plays drums,and guitar on here.This is without question the best post Beatles Album by any of the Fab 4.And Denny Laine's guitar sounds great..On "Let me roll it"Macca sounds more like John than John..Last time I played it?Last night when the wind was still it came flying through my door---LOL---I'm a Bluebird me---LOL...Like "Free's"1973 Album Heartbreaker the chance of making an Album under the circumstances which both came under it is just incredible both would come up with superb Albums...And in fact the best of their career's.

Universally adored by loyal fans, that is, since rock critics hated it as a matter of course -- just as they had every Sabbath record before it.
For Sabbath members Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommii, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward, recording the follow-up to 1972’s Vol. 4 was anything but a cakewalk, since drug abuse and hard partying had by then begun messing with their focus, and the sheer fatigue associated with four years of non-stop touring had also taken its toll.
The band’s initial attempts to write and record in the sunny but toxic environs of Los Angeles, in the summer of 1973, proved fruitless, so they hastily retreated to their more familiarly Grey-skied English homeland and rented out a Gothic medieval castle in Gloucestershire. Their hope being that working in the castle’s dungeon would spark the inspiration needed to conjure up a new spate of occult-laced doom Rock along the same, brutally fancy-free lines of what had come before.
But Black Sabbath had other plans, and just as soon as Iommi broke through his writer’s block by crafting the mighty riff powering Sabbath Bloody Sabbath’s signature title track, the new album’s creative process began gathering serious steam and moving in unprecedented directions, to boot, marked by increased experimentation and sophistication.
Even familiarly bruising heavy Rock wonders like "A National Acrobat," "Looking for Today" and "Killing Yourself to Live" were possessed of a newfound confident maturity, thought-provoking lyrics and increased melodic sensibilities, while "Sabbra Cadabra," "Who Are You?" and "Spiral Architect" incorporated both synthesizers (courtesy of Yes legend Rick Wakeman) and orchestral arrangements to great effect. And in "Fluff," Iommi’s typically “throwaway” acoustic interludes of previous LPs found sweet, baroque redemption.
In other words, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath wasn’t just another Black Sabbath album, but a clear dividing line in their career; a significant creative leap inaugurating phase two of the band’s career and promising much of albums still to come. But, as history showed ever-increasing substance use and continued exploitation by label and management taskmasters would duly exhaust Sabbath’s artistic powers and undermine the quality of subsequent albums to varying degree. As well as Iommi, Drummer Bill Ward who had trouble on the previous Album plays quite brilliantly, ditto Bassist Butler, who was also the main lyric writer and his lyrics on here are outstanding. But the shining Star on this Classic Album is OZZY-----derided by some as not being a good singer! This is a fallacy as Ozzy is indeed a fine singer; the superb title song really shows a great vocal range. His vocals on the end section "Where can you run to “with a searing vocal pitching in a top C sharp! His great love of The Beatles really shows on this Album with such wonderful melodies. They still had the heavy gunslingers of old but now added a new prog element to their repertoire. The Album cover is also a classic by Drew Struzan, who later became famous as the poster artist for the Star Wars and Indiana Jones franchises. But Ozzy description of the Album is the Best (and some would say he was not an educated man)—Ozzy “The front cover represents a dying man---There are all these distorted figures bending over him and gloating as he lies there. These figures are actually him at different stages of his life. He’s a man of greed –a man who’s wanted everything all his life and done all this evil stuff. The back cover represents the good side of life. The person dying on the bed has been really good to people. He’s got all these beautiful people crying over him as he he’s dying ---All in all, this represents the good and bad of everything.”
What the thousands of bands who plagiarized Sabbath ever since fail to realise (although they took the doom laden riffs) was the most important thing the wonderful melodies. Their best classic Album--Sabbath Bloody Sabbath..Hard rock, Jazz, Prog, Classical, including the kitchen sink it's all there-----"How many pints of Cider does Bill Drink in the video.."—LoL..Progtastic.This content isn't available right now
